Sigiriya – is home to the 5th Century ‘Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within it triple-moated defense the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. After Breakfast leave for Kandy. En route Matale Alu Viharaya, is a sacred Buddhist temple (birth place of the tripitaka). Next visit a spice garden, where you can see how herbs are grown in their natural environment and experience why people from all over the world preferred Sri Lankan spices and herbs.
Evening Kandyan cultural show and experience the Sri Lankan tradition and culture. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Next, commence City Tour of Kandy including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square and Gem Museum.
Kandy – the hill capital. Venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.

After Breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit Water Falls, Tea Factory and Tea Estate.
Afternoon commence City Tour of Nuwara Eliya including Nuwara Eliya Town, Market place, Golf Course, (one of the finest 18 holes Golf courses in Asia) the Hill club, and drive around this hill station viewing Gregory Lake and Victoria Park.

Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith's quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.
