DAY 01

Arrival to Sri Lanka, and you will be met by a Journeyline Travels Representative on Arrival at the Airport and proceed to Dambulla. En route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Dambulla cave Temple Pinnawala 

Elephant Orphanage – Started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded. The orphanage has grown to be a big family today. A unique experience never to be missed. The ideal time to watch them is 09.15 Am – 10.15 Am /01.15 Pm – 02.015 Pm

Next, witness Dambulla cave Temple (In Decent Attire) 

Dambulla – is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock.  The first 03 caves are better, older and larger than the other two.  Some caves dates to 1st C.B.C. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues, statues of Gods and Kings are also found here.

DAY 02

After Breakfast leave for Kandy. En route climb up the Sigiriya Rock. 

Sigiriya – is home to the 5th Century ‘Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island.  It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress.  Within it triple-moated defense the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft.  On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool.  On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes of life-sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color 

Next, commence City Tour of Kandy including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square and Gem Museum. 

Kandy – the hill capital. Venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere Evening Witness a Kandyan Dance Performance in Sri Lanka 

Proceed to Temple of the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and join with the pooja ceremony. (In Decent Attire)

Dinner & overnight stay at – Kandy

DAY 03

After Breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit Water Falls, Tea Factory and Tea Estate. 

Afternoon commence City Tour of Nuwara Eliya including Nuwara Eliya Town, Market place, Golf Course, (one of the finest 18 holes Golf courses in Asia) the Hill club, and drive around this hill station viewing Gregory Lake and Victoria Park.

DAY 04

After Breakfast leave for Yala. En route visit Hakgala Botanical Garden, waterfalls, scenic backdrop of mountains. 

Evening Safari at the Yala National Park. 

Yala National Park – is the second largest national park in Sri Lanka. Best Chance to see a Leopards is generally first thing in the morning and then again at dusk. In addition to leopards, visitors may also spot large numbers of elephants, sloth bears and deer. The best time to visit is considered to be between the months of November to August.

DAY 05

After Breakfast proceed to Bentota Via Galle, afternoon commence Galle City Tour including The Galle fort, The Dutch Museum, and the Dutch Church.

Gall Fort – A UNESCO World Heritage Site, an exotic old trading port blessed with imposing Dutch-colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions and museums. Wandering its rambling lanes you’ll pass stylish cafes, quirky boutiques and impeccably restored hotels owned by local and foreign artists, writers, photographers and designers. Leave for Bentota En route visit Turtle Hatchery. Check in at the Hotel and rest of the day at leisure. 

Optional Excursion: Enjoy a Boat ride on Madu River

DAY 06

After Breakfast rest of the day at leisure on the Beach.

DAY 07

After Breakfast proceed to Colombo. Afternoon commence Colombo City Tour & Shopping 

Colombo – a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square. 

Dinner & overnight stay at – Colombo

DAY 08

After Breakfast your chauffeur guide will comfortably take you back to the International Airport for a safe Return Journey.
